Going back to school

Going Back To School     Going back to school was really exciting for me because as some of you already know I was home-schooled for the past 4 years. I had a lot of fun in those four years, but it was also very lonely. Which is why I decided to go back to school. It's been quite a change of pace compared to what I'm used to. I have also made a ton of new friends and I have a lot more school work but I like it. That is also a part of the reason why I haven't written any blogs in the past few months but I can't just blame homework and getting ready to go back to school. I have just been trying to put it off and yes my mom reminds me occasionally but I usually try to ignore it. I am also behind on all of my requirements. I think When I signed up for the I Ho Chuan I had no clue what I was getting myself into. Now the more I think about it, it's really impressive to me how someone can complete all their requirements. I know that the year is still ongoing and I plan on ...

Quick update

Today I made some granola and fudge with organic honey instead of sugar. Because I'm on a diet and can not eat artificial sugar. It tastes amazing and I totally recommend it. I only used Honey and a few other organic sweeteners. I mixed The fudge mixture into the granola and had a little left over so I put it into an Ice cube mold and in the freezer for an hour. Here are my recipes if you want to try them for yourself. Personally, I prefer it to the granola you can get at Super store and it doesn't cost nearly as much.  Homemade granola  Ingredients 2 cups of whole rolled oats   1/2 cup of chopped almonds 1 teaspoon of sea salt  2 teaspoons cinnamon 2 tablespoons of coconut oil 2 tablespoons of organic peanut butter  Preheat the oven to 300°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. In a medium bowl, combine the oats, almonds, coconut oil, cinnamon, salt, and some of the fudge mixture if you would like. Drizzle in the coconut oil and add the peanut but...

Diet and Canada Day

Diet I decided that I should go on a diet of no artificial sugar for the next two weeks. It's pretty scary to know how addicted I am to sugar and I can already feel how much I want to eat something sweet. it is also surprising to me how hard it is to keep away from anything sweet. You also need to start thinking about what you are eating and if it has sugar in it. I know there are tons of health benefits like lower blood sugar which decreases the chance of diabetes, less body fat because instead of burning sugar your body is forced to burn your body fat. Overall cutting your sugar has many different health benefits for your entire body.  On a different note, I felt actually pretty good about Canada Day and I had fun doing it as well. Except for the dragon I thought we needed much more practice I did not feel good about that hopefully next time we have a performance we can do a lot more practice. The Tiger Challange

The Tiger Challenge It was pretty cool to see some of the others Hand Forms and Weapon Forms. It's made me realize how much work others are putting into there kung-fu compared to me. I almost feel like i don't deserve the medals I was given because I didn't train nearly as much as my mom or any one else for that matter. I think the pool noodle fight was the high light of the day it has basically turned into full contact fighting. I also had an idea regarding the black belt tournament I think that the students should judge the black belts 😉. I just wanted to say that it was way more fun then I expected and I hope everyone else did as well and I kind of regret not joining the point sparing and obstacle course. -NUMBERS- Push-ups      :     12,100 Sit-ups         :     12,800 AOK             :     96 Weapon        :    58 Hand ...

Why I go to kung-fu

Why I go to kung-fu  I've been thinking about this a lot and I think that the largest aspect of it is the social part. Since covid started I have been home schooled and I really only have one friend left from when I was in school. Sure I have a few other friends that I have met through home schooling but it was never the same and I don't see most of my friends regularly so going to kung fu twice a week really helped and even though I'm not very close to anyone there it just helped seeing more people other that my mom and my brother. There is also the physical activity and I really love working out especially since I have joined the I Ho Chuan it has made me work out very regularly now not only am I doing my push-ups and sit-ups but I've been doing pull-ups and I have been trying to stretching every night. The problem with vacation

The problem with vacation  I am sure that other people have had the same problem. Now that I'm in Germany I'm finding hard to focus on my kung-fu and my blogs. However I am keeping up with my push-ups and sit-up. It's not like I don't have time to practice I just haven't had the motivation or space to practice. I would rather spend time with my family and friends. We recently went to Italy for a week and I didn't do anything for my numbers. I am already excited for our return and I will try to improve my numbers before we are back in Canada.  Push-ups: 13,250 Sit-ups:     13,450 AOK:       156 Hand:       27 Weapon:  49 Sparring: 158
